What is wrong with Plain water for Dogs?

The critical problem with plain water for dogs is that they will NOT DRINK IT BEFORE the hot day, the competition, traveling or when sick.

For dogs, like people, prevention is better than cure when it comes to dehydration and overheating.

My Dog is a fussy drinker, how do I make sure he likes the product?

"DAB" your finger in the drink & touch on your dog's tongue.

We have three flavours (chicken, beef and bacon) so that atleast one flavour caters for fussier dogs. We find dog's will have a preference.

Dog's need to be introduced to anything new with some thought.

Most owners report just needing to 'dab' their finger in the mixture & then 'dab' on their dog's tongue then drinking occurs.

However, occassionally dog's are suspicious of something new.

FOR FUSSIER DOGS

The following steps have been used to get the 'fussier' dogs' to drink & so enjoy the health benefits of being hydrated before exercise and hot days:

Ensure follow mixing instructions. This means mix powder concentrate in a 600ml water bottle and shake, before pouring into the dog's bowl. Note: It does not work to sprinkling concentrate into dog bowl & stirring with finger. This does not mix the concentrate into the water enough.

Make the drink stronger. This means use 2 teaspoons in 500ml of water not 600ml as recommended. This extra taste often gets the dogs more motivated to drink.

Sprinkle on food a small amount of the powder concentrate. This introduces the taste gradually so then motivated to drink in water.

Try a different flavour.

How much should I give my dog?

Remember our philosophy is prevention is better than cure when it comes to overheating and dehydration.

To boost energy on a hot day, before competition or traveling it is recommended to give small quantities regularly.

WE PROVIDE A GUIDE TO THIS WHEN YOU REQUEST A SAMPLE.

Offer the same small quantities at 30 minute intervals.

There is no possibility of toxity caused by the vitamin mix (see product information).

If excessive quantities are given the dog will increase its urination.

Our report #7 explains how a dog just to survive (maintenance level) requires 60ml of water per kg per day. This assumes no exercise.

How long does it last?

The shelf life of the powder concentrate un-opened is 18 months.

Once the powder concentrate is opened will keep for 9 months (ensure re-seal container after each use).

Once made up the product will keep for:
24 hours un-refridgerated,
72 hours refridgerated.

Is it safe for Cats?

Yes it is.
There is no issues of over-dosing on the vitamins.

We find only 40% of cat will want to drink this liquid. This is actually good for them as it increases their fluid intake, reducing the possibility of urinary tract infection.

Cats actually like the chicken powder sprinkled on their food.
